To hit L4: You must explain your 1+2 factors(Hamburgers) very well to hit the next level.

L4 is also known as your evaluation of the essay question.

How far do the sources show that Hitler had genuine support among Germans in the 1930s? Use the source and your knowledge to support your answer.

E.g. Source A seems to support the idea that Hitler had genuine support as Germans seem to identify with his campaign messages. However, this has a propaganda element as the poster would exaggerate Hitler and the Nazi party ability to identify with the concerns of the Germans.

E.g. Source B is from Hitler himself in his book. He would definitely wish to portray himself as a legitimate and genuine leader who is able to identify with the desires of the Germans for democratic leadership.

E.g. Source C is a political cartoon by a British cartoonist who would exaggerate the negativity of Hitler’s tactics in order to discredit his election victories.

E.g. Source D is a propaganda leaflet which would definitely portray the Nazi Party as the defender of German society and stability. Any support for Hitler there would not be genuine as it would be done out of fear rather than willing support through identification with the Nazi cause.

E.g. Source E is an interview which reported Hitler’s own words. As such, he would exaggerate his own self-importance and ability to win the support of the German people and hence it may not be genuine.

E.g. Source F is by an American reporter who witnessed the happenings at a Nazi rally. He saw first-hand the impact that Hitler had on Germans who seemed to be genuinely swept up in emotion for their leader. Hence, this source is reliable.
